Muskies below the dam...
The fish are starting to appear below the Oconomowoc River dam. Head over there and check it out. Musky Mikes will do some video again this year, and I'll make sure to post it asap.
I'm a multispecies angler with more than 30 years experience on these local waters.
I know the seasonal patterns of our local fishery and I want to help you learn to put more fish in the boat.
Local Lakes
Okauchee-Great multispecies lake and our home water. Largemouth, smallmouth, northerns and muskies abound in this lake's many bays.
Oconomowoc- A challenging clearwater fishery that features spectacular smallmouth bass fishing, as well as walleyes and muskies. Recommended for experienced anglers.
Golden- One of our favorites.Features shallow water largemouth fishing which in usually best in the morning. A great option for a half day trip.
Moose-A smaller lake with unique structural elements which provide quality largemouth and pike fishing.
Silver-Our numbers lake. Fish run small, but catches of 50-75 Largemouths in a day are not uncommon during a day of fishing on Silver Lake.
Lac La Belle - a numbers lake for walleye and smallmouth bass.
Lower Genessee - Offers panfish, bass and northern pike. In the early season, trout stocked by the DNR draw the most attention. A small lake for a "quieter day" on the water.
Middle Genessee-Panfish and bass lake, best fished in the evenings or at night during the hot summer months.
Rock River - The Jefferson/Ft Atkinson area of the Rock River provides seasonal fishing for walleyes, whitebass and catfish. Our first open water fishing spot of the year.
